
Laurie Franklin
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Laurie grew up in Zimbabwe. She graduated with a degree in Textile Design and Technology from the University of the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town. Her artistic career began in 2002 painting nudes, landscapes and florals. She exhibited widely in South Africa and her artwork found resonance in hotels in Ireland, Mauritius and Dubai. Moving to Perth in 2009, she had continued success with her nudes, abstracts and landscapes. Prestigious projects included the Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough and North Perth.
A sea-change in 2012 indulged studying ceramics in the Northern Carolina, USA. Her return to Australia in 2013 saw her move to Melbourne and continue working abstracts, nudes and landscapes.
She works out of her Studio Gallery in Elsternwick.

My love for travel , exploration and the changing seasons is evident in my art.
I have been a professional artist for 23 years and have created unique artwork for offices, hotels, homes, bars and restaurants in Australia, Europe, USA, Canada, China, Singapore and Southern Africa.
I share my passion and skills with others, and have worked as an Adult art facilitator, young adults at a community art gallery and I teach one-on-one and group classes.
