Distant Skies

'Distant Skies' is inspired by the deeply coloured clouds that roll across the dry land and open to give the much needed rain in the drier parts of Australia.
Gentle washes of white, beige and greys intermixed with collage, impasto and charcoal make up a highly textured land. Soft washes of colour allow the shimmer of metallic foil to shine through in the distant horizon.
The sky is composed of washes of colour and carefully demarcated raindrops.
This is part of the "Rain" series, inspired by the life giving rain that is so needed after fire and drought.
